Google Nest Hub review: Google's Nest Hub smart display is still great
Works great via their native app and it DID work well by connecting the integration for HubSpace to Google Home. However, as of a couple days ago it lost the connection to all devices but devices are controllable and online via their native app. Google just took a major step in Matter's direction, bringing the highly-anticipated interconnectivity protocol to Google Nest, Android and Google Home smart home devices. Note that changing this setting does not delete any of your personal data from Google, it only stops Google Assistant from recording more data going forward. Every interaction you have with Google Home is logged, including audio recordings of your voice commands, unless you tell Google Assistant not to. It filtered out the bad ones where the subject was out of focus or not properly framed, and showed the rest on the Hub. Pictures look like they would if you'd printed them and framed them.
Download the portals app on your phone, iOS, or Android, and create an account. Ask Google Home for information about the weather, local sports teams, news, traffic, and more. It can also manage your Google Calendar and interface with Google Keep to help you schedule appointments and events, create shopping lists, and perform other useful tasks. When you do connect Google Home to the internet, you unlock the functionality of Google Assistant. If you aren't completely on board with talking to a speaker, Google Home has an app for both Android and iOS that allows you to configure and control your Google Home speakers remotely. Without being connected to the internet, Google Home can't do a whole lot. You can use it as a wireless speaker for local media, but most of the useful functionality relies on an internet connection. While Google Home is a decent enough speaker, you can find better wireless speakers for less money if you don't plan on connecting to the internet.
